    Abstract: Many countries around the world attach great importance to the issues of the health hazards of tobacco products .Tobacco control is an important domestic health policy. The study explored how the domestic pictures of tobacco control advocacy affect the motivation of smoking cessation among young people, using a self-developed structured questionnaire and EEG measurement, to assess the effectiveness of the way of tobacco control advocacy.The study used purposive sampling and the subjects were total 31 students of some higher vocational school. Average age were 17.4 years old, smoking for the first time in high school were 67.7%, smoking cessation motivation were 54.8%; low addiction of FTQ were 54.8% .The EEG stimulated by different smoking cessation image (organ decay, the production of pregnant women, officials, idols, the basic text declared guide), were analyzed and recorded by multi-channel EEG (The EEG recording was carried out using Neuroscan Synamps hardware and Scan 4.3 software (USA)). The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics in SPSS12.0 to explore the differences of different wave pattern, the EEG channels and EEG power of the brain block stimulated by different types of smoking cessation pictures. Experimental results show smoking cessation motivation there were statistically significant differences (P <0.05) .In addition, the idol type pictures affect brain waves of the subjects in wave power, channel, and brain blocks (the central area and the left brain); there were statistically significant differences (P <0.05) . The results mean that the idol type of pictures stimulate on smoking young people more obviously, i.e. the idol type pictures of tobacco control advocacy get more attention from smoking young people . According to the results of this study, the idol type advocacy pictures will do the best to youth EEG stimulation among different smoking cessation pictures for smoking adolescents. It is recommended that health authorities, when selecting the harmful effects of tobacco prevention advocacy theme, should consider age preferences to formulate advocacy strategies in tobacco control and so enhance the effectiveness of tobacco control.
