Abstract: | The goal of this study is: 1. to understand the distribution of basic character, psychological flexibility, professional commitment, job burnout and job performance of nurses in nursing home; 2. To explore the interelationship among psychological flexibility, professional commitment, job burnout and job performance of nurses in nursing home; 3. To analyze the basic character, psychological flexibility, and professional commitment of nurses in nursing home for the prediction of their job burnout and job performance. Structural questionnaire investigation method is adopted in this study. A total of 26 legal nursing homes in Chang-Hua County were taken as our object in this survey. 153 questionnaires were distributed and 148 of them were retrieved, resulting in a 96.7% of retrievable rate. The data were processed by descriptive statistics, single factor variation analysis, independent sample t-examine, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient analysis, and multiple regression analysis。 The results indicate that: 1. the personal background has great influence on the psychological flexibility, professional commitment, job burnout and job performance of nurses in nursing home; 2. Positive correlation exist among psychological flexibility, professional commitment, job burnout and job performance for nurses in nursing home; 3. personal background, psychological flexibility and professional commitment are prominent predicting factors for job burnout and job performance. The explainable variable quantity for job burnout and job performance is 32% and 49%, respectively. The results of this study is of highly suggestive for a superintendent or person in charge of an organization that the personal character of an individual may be an important factor that governs the stress, emotion and psychological adjustment during working hours. Creating high-quality working environment, providing well personnel and beneficiary system and promoting professional progress and fulfillment are helpful in reducing burnout and promoting work efficiency of nurses in a nursing home. |
