Abstract: In this paper, a power frequency measurement platform with LabVIEW environment, the data acquisition card (Data Acquisition Card, DAQ) produced by National Instruments, and related hardware is developed. Firstly, the power signal is transmitted to the PC through the DAQ card. Then, the power frequency of extracted signal can be analyzed by zero-crossing algorithm built in a virtual instrument via LabVIEW. In the experiments, it is verified that the algorithm not only is with the low computational burden, but also produces accurate results. With the simulated signals and the actual measurements, the effectiveness and practicality of applied algorithm can be easily observed.
