Abstract: | The purposes of this study are to explore the status of digital divides on new immigrant’s fifth and sixth graders in Nantou Country and to compare the different background of digital divides of these fifth and sixth graders. The methods used in this research are literature review and questionnaire. A total of 302 questionnaires were sent out and 298 students completed. The effective return rate is 95.4%. Four tests employed for this study are Mean, Standard Deviation, independent sample t-test, and one-way ANOVA. Our findings of this research are as follows: 1.The present situation of digital divides on new immigrant’s fifth and sixth graders in Nantou Country are leaned to middle level. 2.Among different personal background variables, grade, gender, living location, and using IT equipment time per week, the performance of the digital divides are significant different. 3.Among different family background variables, family socioeconomic status, family income, attitude of parents, and various family IT equipment, the performance of the digital divides are significant different. Finally, according to the conclusions of the study, we shall not only present the results to the educational administration agencies, elementary schools, elementary school teachers, and parents, but also suggest for further researches. |
