摘要: Mining companies in Mongolia should implement Occupational Health and Safety management (OHSM) to face rapidly booming mining sector and to help mining companies to achieve business goals. Being aware of influential factors on the OHSM is needed to reduce work-related fatalities and increase company’s efficiency. Less research has been conducted for identifying influential factors on the implementation of OHSM in Mongolia. Thus, the intent of this study is to provide general overview of OHSM and investigating correlation of five factors influencing to the implementation of occupational health and safety management among mining companies operating in Mongolia by using quantitative research method. The result show that correlation of five domains varies. Using factor loading to examine the most influential factor to the least influential factors are shown as follows: Act & regulation, client pressure, investment, integrated OHSM and organizational culture. In addition, lack of adequate investment from government was reported by the majority of OHS specialists. This finding is noteworthy in that there was OHS specialist agreement that their companies do not spend at least 1 % of their production and service cost to the implementation of OHSM. It is also noteworthy that the mining companies operating in Mongolia should enhance employees’ overall awareness of Total Quality Management and its benefit of integration to the other managements. Most clients place little importance on health and safety and they often ignore occupational safety. Lack of setting strong organizational culture that promotes implementation of OHSM in Mongolian mining companies is reported by OHS specialists. Finally, passing OHS related Act to the RIOHSM contributes to reducing work-related fatalities was found. Conclusions are drawn that the mining companies should focus on adaptation of act & regulation properly, reducing client pressure and increasing investment to the Occupational Health and Safety management. Finally, this master thesis contributes to the implementation of OHSM in Mongolia for reference.
