After the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, there was a significant increase in demand for home fitness equipment, which led to a peak in the operations of many fitness equipment companies. However, as global vaccination efforts became widespread and the pandemic gradually came under control, traditional fitness gyms began reopening, causing a surprising slowdown in the demand for home exercise equipment. This sudden market shift resulted in a major reversal of orders, resembling a nightmare for many industries in the post-pandemic era. With the easing of the pandemic and the lifting of restrictions in various countries, industries that initially benefited from the pandemic will eventually regain stable supply and demand. The unpredictable changes in demand pose a challenge for businesses to differentiate their products and services, maintain order volume, and stabilize procurement risks in a rapidly changing market environment. This study will utilize a case study approach to explore inventory management models for the fitness equipment manufacturing industry in the face of global economic cycles and market environmental changes. The procurement of parts will be categorized based on the main product types ordered by the business, and key components will be identified as the target objects for analysis. An inventory management model will be established, and management items and action plans will be set and regularly controlled. The study will also focus on integrating the supply-demand relationship to adjust procurement strategies. Finally, in response to inventory crisis risks, this research proposes three recommendations. Firstly, emphasis should be placed on managing demand at the source by improving order accuracy and implementing lean processes to reduce inventory while ensuring smooth production. Secondly, it is important to understand the supplier's Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) and Lead Time (LT), and adjust delivery based on time intervals to distribute and allocate resources quantitatively. Lastly, enhancing information transparency and communication vertically and horizontally, along with timely assessment of external environmental factors, can improve decision-making and mitigate risks.
