Research Background and Objectives: This study focuses on the medicinal plants found on the campus of Sd Elementary School in Wufeng District. The research aims to design and investigate a health plant curriculum and teaching methods. The purpose is to explore the impact of incorporating commonly used medicinal plants into practical teaching activities on students' cognitive learning of health plants and the professional growth of teachers. Research Methods: The study targets fifth-grade students from Sd Elementary School and utilizes a theme-based experiential curriculum design. Deep interviews are conducted, and learning process records are established, including pre- and post-questionnaires, activity worksheets, post-assessment, and parental feedback forms. These methods are used to discuss and analyze students' learning outcomes. Research Findings: The results show that integrating medicinal plants into the curriculum significantly changes students' perception and understanding of the campus environment. Their curiosity and fondness for campus plants become more positive, and there is a substantial increase in their knowledge of medicinal plants and environmental ecology. Students demonstrate positive growth in cognition, affection, and skills. For teachers, apart from gaining knowledge, there is evident professional and instructional skill development. Developing a local curriculum featuring native plants effectively promotes the objectives of localized education.
