This study analyzes the traditional perennial physical training and new physical training conducted by firefighters of Fengnan Branch of Taichung Fire Department, aiming to explore the differences and effects of the two training methods in improving the physical fitness of firefighters. The research results show that traditional perennial training mainly emphasizes the improvement of basic strength and endurance, while new physical training focuses more on the training of specific skills and the simulation of actual combat scenarios. Although traditional training has contributed to improving the basic physical fitness of firefighters, the flexibility and pertinence of the new physical training have shown greater advantages in improving firefighters' actual combat response ability and specific skills. However, this does not mean that traditional training methods should be completely abandoned, on the contrary, combining the two training methods may be the most effective strategy. Future research could further explore how to best combine these two training modalities to provide more specific guidance and implementation strategies.
