The National Fire Agency announced the new physical fitness test for firefighters in 2022. The new test differs significantly from the previous version, which focused more on muscular endurance and aerobic capacity training. The new test, however, emphasizes maximum strength and explosive power training. Therefore, it is worth exploring whether the new physical fitness test standards can effectively enhance the firefighters' physical fitness. This study aims to compare the differences between the new and old versions in terms of muscle groups used, physical fitness elements, and their relevance to firefighters' job tasks. Furthermore, the study will analyze the potential impact of these differences on firefighters' physical training and duty performance, providing a reference for improving the physical fitness test for firefighters. This will further enhance the firefighters' physical fitness level and improve their training equipment and facilities, ensuring their ability to carry out firefighting missions.
