This study has adopted the perspective of "visual aesthetics in fashion illustration" to investigate the impact of body proportions and style representation on the visual aesthetics of fashion illustration. Upon reviewing existing literature, it is evident that there has been limited in-depth research on the relationship between clothing types, body proportions, and stylistic expressions in fashion illustration, with a lack of scientific theoretical and empirical exploration. To create clothing effects, it is necessary and valuable to establish a painting model for fashion illustration based on optimal visual aesthetics. Therefore, the purpose of this study has been to examine the effect of "clothing types" on "body proportions" and "stylistic expressions" and to test the hypothesis that longer clothing styles are associated with greater body proportions and generate a stronger positive correlation with visual appeal. This study has aimed to establish a painting model for fashion illustration in order to demonstrate its impact on "visual aesthetics in fashion illustration."Two examinations utilizing samples from art and design-related departments have been conducted. Study 1 has employed the "ranking method" and "semantic analysis" to examine the reliability and results of the ranking, aiming to explore whether there are significant differences in the average ranking of clothing types and body proportions, as well as the common factors influencing the visual aesthetics of "imagery" in fashion illustration. The objective of Study 2 has been to determine the compatibility between clothing types and painting styles. The "Likert scale" has been used to assess whether five distinct painting styles corresponded to their respective descriptive indicators. The hypothesis has been verified using a "painting model for fashion illustration" and a quasi-experimental design with "human body structure" and "painting model" as independent variables to determine causal relationships in the inferred results. The findings of this study have indicated a positive correlation between "clothing types and body proportions" and the visual aesthetics of fashion illustration. The imagery generated by the combination of body proportions and clothing types has demonstrated a significant association, suggesting that various clothing types are appropriate for illustrating different body proportions. The difference in compatibility between clothing types and style indicators lies in "realism," suggesting that an objective and realistic painting style is recommended for enhancing the visual aesthetics of fashion illustration when depicting various clothing types. Significant differences have been revealed by the quasi-experimental design, and the devised "painting model for fashion illustration" contributes to the development of artistic confidence. The painting model mnemonic, "one vertical, two horizontals, three structure, four limbs, five form, and six outfits," contributes to the improvement of the visual aesthetics of fashion illustration. On the basis of the aforementioned research findings, it is evident that the "painting model for fashion illustration devised in this study has the potential to improve the visual aesthetics and inspire confidence in fashion illustration. In addition, it can serve as a valuable resource for beginners in fashion illustration, contributing to the educational objectives of fashion illustration.
