Social workers need to possess self-awareness to avoid letting various factors affect the quality of services provided to individuals with mental disabilities. This research focuses on understanding how social workers serving people with mental disabilities, through the perspective of anti-oppression, influence their attitudes and behaviors in the course of their work. Through the study, it is found that social workers, by being aware of anti-oppression in their work, can identify both external and interaction-induced oppression on individuals with mental disabilities. Social workers continue to self-reflect, learn, and accept supervision, adjusting and changing their attitudes, and developing responsive action strategies.
