The subjects of this research are designers who work in interior design and renovation companies. The purpose of this research is to explore how interior designers’ job satisfaction and personality traits are involved with their job performance. At the end of my research, some strategic suggestions are offered which could provide interior design managers and designers with good reference suggestions. In addition, some strategic suggestions in this research may make contributions for human resource management in the field of interior design industry. The conceptual framework is composed of the variables which are “job satisfaction”, “personality traits” and “job performance”. The variable of “job satisfaction” includes 5 dimensions, which are job itself, salary, promotion, supervisor and colleagues. The variable of “personality traits” includes six dimensions, which contains originality, independent challenge , flexibility, competent , initiative and curiosity . The variable of “job performance” includes three dimensions, which contains efficiency, performance and quality .A survey by questionnaire was applied in this research. Besides, 229 valid questionnaires were integrated in SPSS of statistical analysis. The analysis of this research are as follows.(1) The result of “job satisfaction” shows that only two variables - job itself and promotion have a significant positive impact on interior designers’ job performance.(2) The three variables - flexibility, competent and initiative of the “personality traits” have a significant positive impact on interior designers’ job performance. This study was influenced by some objective conditions;some limitations associated with this study are as the follows.(1) The data collected which focused only on interior designers but not for all designers.(2) As a test tool, the questionnaires were answered by interior designers themselves, and there are objective perception and attitude in the process of assessment which might result some research bias. Finally according to the conclusions of study, many suggestions in this research including interviewers, samples, questionnaires, variables and scope are posed to provide interested researchers for reference in the future.
