    摘要: Background - COVID-19 pandemic has been cited as one that is associated with the rise pf psychological needs worldwide. Studies have been conducted to point out which psychological problems are on the rise while others emphasized the importance of knowing the risk factors as well as coping strategies for intervention. Factors included are lifestyle, preventive self-behaviors and socio-economic conditions, including the country of residence where different government regulations come into play. The objective of this research is to explore the relation between psychological symptoms and coping strategies during COVID-19, compare the difference of coping strategies of Filipinos’ gender and residency between Philippines and India and to explore the risk factors associated with psychological symptoms related to coping strategies during COVID-19 pandemic. Research Methods: This study is cross-section designed research. The participants are Filipinos aged older than 20-year-old and completed our online survey. The dependent variables are the psychological symptoms which will be measured by Fear of COVID-19, IESR-22, GAD-7, PHQ-9 and AUDIT-10. The independent variables include demographic data, socio-economic condition, lifestyle as well as preventive behaviors. Results: There are a total of 510 Filipino participants and most of them were Philippine-residents, aged 20-30 years old, female, single and have bachelor’s degree. The study found relation between some coping strategies and psychological symptoms. For the comparative analysis, there are significant differences of scores between country of residence and gender for the psychological symptoms. A number of associations were also found between psychological symptoms and demographic data, socio-economic condition, lifestyle factors, preventive behaviors.Conclusion: There is relation between some coping strategies and psychological symptoms during COVID-19, a significant difference of psychological symptom scores between country of residence and gender and an association between demographic data, socio-economic condition, lifestyle factors, preventive behaviors and the psychological symptoms.Research limitation: This study has few limitations—first, the method used to gather data is sampling method through online questionnaires. Hence, factors of the internet unavailability and less knowledge about filling in forms online can contribute to the study’s limitation. Study Implication: The result of this study can help the mental health professionals to explore the coping skills, look for different factors that are detrimental towards mental health and develop appropriate assessments within the community.
