國外行之有年的打工度假，來到台灣後變成了所謂的打工換宿，在實際上運作的模式似乎也有些差異，且隨著打工換宿的話題越來越熱，包括網站資訊、Facebook、LINE等社群軟體，都有許多打工換宿的交流平台，以及打工換宿參與者分享的打工換宿經驗心得，在新聞媒體上也能看到一些打工換宿的相關報導，內容則是好壞參半，一種是在工作中享受生活、一種則是感覺被剝削，2年前曾經在宜蘭烏石港衝浪民宿有過打工換宿的經驗，當時的環境及氛圍感受都相當正面，也認為當地的模式最接近於國外的打工度假，因此想透過本次研究，透過資料蒐集、深度訪談及實際體驗的心得，探討出當地衝浪聚落對打工換宿者相對友善的原因，並對可改善的地方做出建議。 The long-standing working holiday abroad has become a so-called work-and-lodging exchange after coming to Taiwan.
