Pickleball, which combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong, is a new sport that has quickly become popular in recent years in the United States. It is a racquet sport for all ages. Compared to badminton and tennis, it is more suitable for people who have no sport experience. It takes only a short learning time to play, especially for those who have played tennis, ping pong or badminton before. This study was conducted through a semi-structured, qualitative, in-depth one-to-one interview with 24 elderly players. Their experience and view in the pickleball sport are found. For example, pickleball is easy to learn and the risk of injury is low; the cost of the required consumables is low; it is not easy to find pickleball players and there are few venues to play; it's well suitable for the retired persons, but young people are also welcome to get involved. The research results can increase people’s awareness of the sport and provide references for the promotion of the sport in Taiwan.
