(Taiwan-World Health Organization Quality of Life –Brief, T-WHOQOL-BREF)。
The purpose of study was to explore the visually impaired people’s life through the relationships between the state of Resilience, Mindfulness Attitude and understand their quality of life. This study design was divided into two categories which are congenital blindness and adventitious blindness, moreover normal vision people also involved in the control group at the same time, by understanding the differences among these three categories which in the state of Resilience, Mindfulness Attitude and quality of life. This study collected total 57 subjects of “congenital blindness group”, 42 subjects of “adventitious blindness group” and 96 subjects of “non-visually impaired group”. All of them must take the tests of The Chinese Version of Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale-25 (CD-RISC-25), Taiwan-Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (T-FFMQ), and Taiwan-World Health Organization Quality of Life –Brief (T-WHOQOL-BREF). Research result found that (1) Resilience: “visually impaired group” and “non-visually impaired group” doesn’t have any significant difference, but when there is no control over the background variables between the three groups and only excludes the influence of “years of education”, there are significant differences among the three groups, and adventitious blindness people were outperforms than the congenital blindness people. (2) Mindfulness: Whether or not to exclude the influence of background variables, different groups do not affect the display of “mindfulness”. (3) Quality of Life: When physical health and environmental domains do not control background variables and exclude only the influence of “age”, all "non-visually impaired group” are better than "visually impaired group" ; But when divided into three groups, physical health influences whether or not to exclude the background variables , "non-visually impaired group” and “congenital blind group” are better than the “adventitious blind group” ; The environmental domain has significant differences only if it does not control the background variables, where the "non-visually impaired group" is better than “adventitious blind group”. Psychological and social relationship domains of whether or not to exclude the influence of background variables, different groups of psychological and social relationship domains are no significant differences. (4) There is a significant positive correlation in “resilience” and “mindfulness”, it still significant even after making partial correlation. (5) The presence of “resilience” and “the domains of quality of life” have significant correlation, it’s still highly relevant with “resilience” and “psychological domain of quality of life” even after the partial correlation. (6) There is a significant positive correlation between “mindfulness” and “ the domains of quality of life”, even after making partial correlation, it shows a high correlation between “mindfulness” and “psychological domain of quality of life”. This study provides preliminary exploration data for visually impaired people on resilience, mindfulness, and quality of life. It is expected that more researchers will be interest the psychological aspects of this group and as a references for related-topic researchers in the future.
