This paper was conducted upon an inspiration by the implementation of the policy of Multi-route Promotion Program (MRPP) for College-bound Seniors in Taiwan in 2002. It is hoped that students can have adaptive development as well as college and departments can select suitable students according to their characteristics. MRPP allows students and colleges to have implicit options. Students from low-income households can find their own turning opportunities thanks to multiple admission, and those from ordinary families can enroll in colleges and universities without suffering from the shortcomings about “one exam setting the course of a student’s life” no matter what their system of high school is.
Therefore, this study takes MRPP as the main axis to understand the influences of the degree of students learning investment on their career planning intention after graduation. Taking the students of Asia University as the research participants, the study investigated the relationships among students “learning attitudes,” “parental factors,” “extracurricular activities,” and “career planning intention after graduation.” A survey questionnaire was adopted in this study, and the SPSS software was used for quantitative analysis. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were used for data analysis and discussions of research findings.
The results of this study hope to help college students establish their post-graduation directions. Likewise, the schools can also apply educational resources to each student more flexibly according to their aptitudes.
