Abstract: The main purpose of this study was to discuss the influence of rope skipping to the health related physical fitness of elementary school students. 114 students of Tainan County Liu-Ying elementary school in fourth, fifth and sixth grades were the subjects of this experiment, including 44 boys and 70 girls. Students were been divided into one experimental group and one control group. The students of the experimental group were asked to do the exercise of rope skipping for fourty minutes at a time, three times a week, and twelve weeks in total, there were no special requests for the control group before and after the training. Testees had to take the tests of body mass index, flexibility, musclar strengh and endurance, instantaneous power and cardiopulmonary endurance.
Independent t-test was used in this study to check if the pretest data were is homogeneous between the experimental group and the control group. Besides, paired t-test was used to check if there were any obvious differences before and after the experiment. At last, independent t-test was used to check if there were any differences between the experimental group and the control group. The results of the experiment with level of significance of .05 were as fllows:
1.Implementation of rope skipping for 12 weeks did not have a remarkable effect to the elementary school students on body mass index.
2.Implementation of rope skipping for 12 weeks did not have a remarkable effect to the elementary school students on flexibility.
3.Implementation of rope skipping for 12 weeks had a remarkable effect to the elementary school students on instantaneous power, and progress rate of girls than boys.
4.Implementation of rope skipping for 12 weeks did not have remarkable effect to the elementary school students on musclar strengh and endurance.
