Volunteers from the school system to promote the spirit of volunteerism, in order to play a greater effectiveness of voluntary service, continued to increase willingness to participate, and their continued participation in the power derived from leisure participation received after the satisfaction or feedback.The aim of this paper is to study Serious Leisure and Leisure Benefit of the elementary school volunteer. The research is based on questionnaire method, randomly taking the elementary school volunteers in Taichung City as the objects of study. 429 out of 500 questionnaires were completed and returned. The data analysis methods used included descriptive statistics, t-test,one-way ANOVA,Pearson correlation , Scheffe post hoc and so on.
The findings are as follows: (1) School volunteers to 41-50 year old women, most of the family management. Family income concentrated in between 50,001 to 80,000 , participation in years 1-3 years and the average maximum of 2 times a week service , school volunteers’ children have more than 80% study in service school. Family members tend to favor their participation in the school volunteers. (2) The elementary school volunteers in Taichung are mostly〝effort and career〞in serious leisure. (3) Interactive growth needs are the greatest leisure benefit. (4) Different age, income and family support in the elementary school volunteer have significant difference serious leisure . (5)Different income and family support in the elementary school volunteer have significant difference leisure benefit . (6) There is significant positive correlation between serious leisure and leisure benefit.
Finally, the results provide some suggestions about volunteers’ recruitment and volunteers .In addition, some further study ideas were also proposed for follow-up researchers’ references in this concern.
