It is a crucial issue that how parents choose the after-school care programs in the social changes of the implementation of educational reformations and are under long-working hours. Whether school faculty parents could make some different choices is also major point in the study. The research conducted with the questionnaire and the participants of this study are the parents as of elementary school faculty and other occupations in Taichung City. This study is to explore the relationship among the decision-making factors of "children's educational expectations", "after-class care program" and "the willingness to participate in after-school care programs" by statistic methods of multiple regression analysis. Moreover, the data were analyzed by using methods ANOVA analysis to compare children educational expectation and the factors choosing after-school care program between school faculty parents and general parents.
The results of this study are as follows:
First, both parents from school faculty and general occupations have the high educational expectations to their children. Among those expectations, the "character and interpersonal interaction" is the highest. In decision-making factors of after- school care, "the equipment and the environment" are the first consideration of school faculty parents and general parents. Their second consideration are the professional teaching quality and family factors. School faculty parents and general parents are willing to participate in "after-school clubs" and "talent classes", but have the lower willingness to attend “daycare of after-school" and “the private care centers of after-school.”
Second, "children's education expectations" and “after-school care decision-making factors" have significant factors and predictive ability on willing to participate in after-school care for school faculty parents and general parents. In this research,
"the equipment and the environment" is found to have a reverse impact on "after-school care program willingness to participate in " for school faculty parents and the result of this part in the research still need to be verified for the follow-up researchers.
Third, from "children educational expectations" to predict "the willingness of attending after-school care program", there is the significant difference on "the situation of children attend school” of school faculty parents. In addition, from "decision-making factors of after-school care" to predict "the willingness to participate in after-school care programs", there are significant differences on "the total number of children" and "the situation of children attend school” of school faculty parents.
Finally, the study propose the suggestions that elementary schools should promote the policy about 12-year curriculum to parents. Also, schools should set up multiple clubs of after-school and those off-campus after-school care should obey the relative rules. Moreover, the study provides useful information to owners of after-school care.
