    Abstract: The content and quality of nutritional school lunches play an important role on students’ healthy diets. To improve the quality of school lunches for students, the database is adopted in this study to login an information system for recording lunch ingredients and contents, which provide parents, teachers and students with accesses through an Internet. The information is provided with openness and transparency to help the supervision of the whole people. With Microsoft's SQL database, food ingredients, main dishes, six categories of food, nutrition, and food are keyed in the system, and data analysis is performed. The findings of this study show that the school lunch information management system can clearly and effectively achieve the following results: (1) Improve work efficiency; (2) Reduce the human work; (3) Ensure the openness and transparency of information; (4) Reduce costs of system development and management; (5) Prevent food safety incidents; (6) Implement the campus food safety management mechanism; (7) Prevent obesity and promote health; (8) Educate nutrition. The recommendations for the future development of this study are as follows: (1) information immediacy; (2) customized service; (3) integration of message service with a cloud platform; (4) the establishment of catering safety and health self-management mechanism; (5) the solutions to difficulties of the administrative staff.
