Due to the new policy of the government on “one case of a break”, i.e., “one fixed day off and one flexible rest day,” the impact on the supermarket business and its increasing cost on human resources are evaluated. The cost assessment by comparing partial working hours, regular salary and overtime payment has also been conducted. Practical impact of “one fixed day off and one flexible rest day” from an operational point of view needs to be understood and the corresponding adaptation are critical. However, even for the same industry, various businesses have their own unique cultures and characteristics such as leadership, strategy, organizational structure, marketing and sales, and innovation. To evaluate the impact of “one fixed day off and one flexible rest day” for businesses, the criteria should be carefully applied with adjustment for individual business. The current research, based on FamilyMart, conducts analysis on its revenue on individual stores, cost of human resource, overtime payment, employee scheduling in order to understand the impact of “one fixed day off and one flexible rest day,” and identifies the options for necessary adjustment.
