    Abstract: The aim of the study is to explore the experiences of adult children’s independent overseas travel with their parents. Specific intentions of this study are as follows: first, to probe into the motivations, obstacles and preparation of adult children’s independent overseas travel with their parents before they set off; second, to analyze the good and bad travel experiences, the approaches to dealing with problems during the independent overseas travel; and third, to go to the bottom of the influence on the parent-child relationship and personal values, and to provide their relatives and friends with traveling advices. According to the purposes, results, and discussion of the study, we can come to the conclusions as follows:
    1. Preparation before parent-child travel
    (1) One of the purposes is to promote family activities and express filial piety. It is also the distinctiveness and value of parent-child travel.
    (2) Most of the obstacles of pre-travel are from different opinions of parents, relatives and friends. Financial ability is less likely to be an obstacle to parent-child travel.
    2. The parent-child interaction and role perception during the parent-child travel
    (1) The wonderful experiences are from the consensus between adult children and their parents.
    (2) The bad experiences are mainly from the differences of perceptions, values, and living habits between adult children and their parents.
    (3) The methods of dealing with problems during travel is the process of how parents and children adapt to the new environment.
    (4) The role perception during parent-child travel enables adult children to realize their capability and responsibility.
    3. The benefits after the parent-child travel
    (1) The interaction between parents and children during the independent overseas travel leads to the change in the relationship between parents and their children.
    (2) The role perception during the independent overseas travel has an influence on individual values.
