Design thinking represents designers’ thoughts and mindsets proceed design. It is believed as methods that can enhance innovation experience and performance. The growing interest of design thinking nowadays encourages multi-disciplines get involved in. However, there exists gap between design professions and novices. The gap will lead to a longer length of R&D, difficulty of quality controlling, and the problem of resource allocation.
This study outlines the motivation strategy to help them to enjoy the progress. ROCKET model with supporting motivation factors have been proposed in this study. By applied empirical study to validate the influence of ROCKET model, rule extraction by data mining is also used to illustrate the patterns behind participants’ thoughts and actions. Participants’ experience is posited with Kano model to reflect the satisfaction of the testing model. This result provides a working model and related motivation factors standing from educator’s aspect. It can also be transited for young innovators to enhance the collaborative experience. Design thinking novice learners and design managers can build up their own working rules according to ROCKET model.
