towards to a high-tech environment with a modern life style. People not only work
quickly and effectively, but also play multiple roles. These are the factors that people
live in a fast pace and with a lot of pressure. Taking shifts is one of the necessary
working conditions in the health care industry. Operators need to take shifts to achieve
the requirements in the hospital, but the working condition had a serious impact on
people's health. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between
work stress and activities of relieving the pressure of medical staffs in central Taiwan.
Activity involvement of relieving the pressure and activity satisfaction are the
research variables. The results showed that: 1) the medical staff believe that the work
is under pressure, activities for relieving the pressure is needed and are satisfied with
the activities for relieving the pressure; 2) male health care workers rely on activities
of relieving the pressure less than female workers; however, male workers have more
satisfaction than female after the relieving activities.
