In this research, a Wiki platform is constructed to enhance teachers’ collaboration on adaptive character education teaching material online. The Wiki platform is used to collect adaptive character education teaching material and character education activities, which can be downloaded by teachers in need. This will greatly reduce the time teachers spend on preparing teaching materials. It will also encourage teachers to adopt character education in their classes.
The participants of the study are third grade students in Class A of Happiness Elementary School (an alias), Taichung County. Based on the methodology of action research, adaptive character education is offered for 8 weeks. The researcher has collaborated with other teachers online to construct the “honesty” and “respect” adaptive character education teaching material. The resulted material is used in the researcher’s class. Data is collected through in-class observation, interviews and document analysis. After organizing and analyzing qualitative data, the results show that adaptive character education teaching material can help students develop their character. The Wiki platform allows teachers to collaborate and establish adaptive character education teaching material online.
