Abstract: The objectives of this study are to investigate the status and constraints of leisure participation for undergraduate students at Tungnan University. Meanwhile, this study is to compare the status and constraints of leisure participation with personal background. 744 questionnaires were distributed, and 719 were collected, with a return rate of 96.6%. Descriptive statistics, item analysis, factor analysis, t-test, one way ANOVA, Scheffe’ post comparison, and Pearson product-moment correlation were used to analyze the data.
The following are some major conclusion for this study:
1.Most of students spend their leisure time on participating in game and rest recreation activities; while, they seldom devoted themselves to volunteer leisure activity.
2.Among undergraduate students’ leisure constraints, the responsible relationship constraint is most important, then information resource constraint, facilities constraint and intrapersonal constraint, respectively.
3.There is no significant correlation between types of leisure activities and leisure constraints.
